Empowering you to love communicating with your child

Communication equals connection.

At HSTS, we want to help strengthen the connection you have with your little by growing the communication dynamics of your family. We work exclusively with ages birth through five, which helps define our practice as family centered.

Our office is located in Scarborough Maine, just minutes off of both 95 or 295 and is comprised of a team of 8 speech-language pathologists, who all uphold ASHA accreditation (CCC).

Mackenzie

Mackenzie has been an SLP for 11 years and has loved each passing year more than the last. Working in a variety of settings has prepared her for the most wonderful responsibility and joy of opening and running this practice.

Born and raised in Maine, Mackenzie is a mama of 2 littles and is married to a tech-savvy (and handy) Vermonter. When she’s not working as an SLP, Mackenzie enjoys time with her family, working out, working in the garden, hanging with her chickens, and spending time outdoors, especially the beach!

Becky

Becky is a practicing SLP of 16 years who spent the first half of her career working with older adults. After having her own children and experiencing firsthand the positive impact of early intervention on a child and a family, she chose to focus her career on pediatrics. She loves working with children and their families and sharing in the joy of celebrating every new milestone that is reached. When she is not working as an SLP, she enjoys spending time with her three active children and her husband. She and her family are the ultimate Disney lovers and enjoy spending lots of time at the ocean here in Maine!

Kaleigh

Kaleigh is a licensed SLP in the state of Maine and loves the world of pediatrics! Kaleigh began her in journey speech therapy after working in public education as an elementary school teacher for the past 10 years. Her time in education taught her how much she loves working on communication with little ones! She enjoys spending time outside with her family and exploring new places around Maine. She loves watching her own two littles engage with the world around them as they grow; and she can’t wait to help your child as well!

Cara

Cara is a practicing SLP in the state of Maine and recently competed her clinical fellowship in 2024. Cara has always enjoyed working with children and the majority of her graduate experience and clinical fellowship consisted of working with children between the ages of 0-18 with a variety of different communication goals. As she has continued to grow as a clinician, she has found a special interest and love for children ages 0-5 and is excited to dive more into the world of early intervention. In her free time she enjoys running, biking, walking her dog, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places!

Whitney

Whitney White is a Maine native and UMaine graduate and has been a practicing SLP for 8 years. She has a passion for pediatrics and truly loves helping children find their voice and teaching caregivers how best to facilitate communication within their everyday routines. When she’s not in the therapy room or on a living room floor with a kiddo, she enjoys home DIY projects and furniture flipping. She has 2 children, Simon and Ira and 3 orange cats (Skeeter, Rico and Kowalski). She looks forward to working with you and your little one!

Laurie

Laurie has been a practicing speech and language pathologist for more than 30 years, almost exclusively with birth-three year olds in Maine. Laurie has extensive knowledge with feeding and swallowing disorders as well as children with complex medical needs.

When not enjoying her immensely rewarding work with little ones and their families, you’ll find her hiking, camping or on the beach with her husband and sweet dog (Fred).
